Spam bots keep coming

[News Bot]

Hi

I have a lot of problems with spam bots signing up and leaving spam in my forum.

I have stop forum spam list, extra question and Akismet plugin installed.
When somebody signups they need to confirm there email.
Can spambots do this?

Can it be a plugin that is doing all this?
Maybe sombody made a plugin with the purpose to get spam to the forum

Anybody has a solution for this problem?

it isn't a bot thats signing up. Just a person who then gives control to the bot.

I'd just about turn to an IP range ban if they have similar IP's - but that's just what I'd do

would also start to ip ban them.
